The Many Voices Within
Ever notice how crowded it can get inside your own head? One voice says, “You’ve got this.” Another mutters, “No you don’t.” Then a third one chimes in with “Biscuits might help.” It’s perfectly human, we all have an internal committee of sorts, made up of different parts of ourselves that want different things.
Some of these parts are confident and capable. Others are frightened, angry, or just plain exhausted. They all developed for a reason, often to protect us or make sense of something painful. The trouble is, without a bit of moderation, those inner voices can end up talking over each other until we can’t hear what we really need.
That’s where therapy comes in. Together, we create a space where every part gets a voice, not to argue, but to be heard. We learn to listen with curiosity rather than criticism, and to meet each part with the same steady welcome: “Thanks for being here, let’s figure this out together.”
🌼 Because healing isn’t about silencing the noise inside. It’s about learning to sit at the table with all of it, kindly, patiently, and with a little humour when we can.
